Special Care Nursery Services

Rely on our Level II NICU to provide newborn care for babies born at 32 weeks gestational age up to full-term babies that need special attention and intervention. Care and treatment at UNC Health Wayne includes:

Your baby also may transfer back to our special nursery to be closer to home after spending time at another hospital’s NICU.

Visitors to the special care nursery are limited to moms and one support person. They can visit 24/7. Feel comfortable spending as much time as you can breastfeeding and bonding with your baby at the special nursery.
