UNC Health Wayne Announces New OB/GYN Clinic Opening in Goldsboro UNC Health Wayne and UNC Physician Network (UNCPN) have been working together amidst the recent changes at Wayne Women’s Clinic, P.A., to ensure uninterrupted OB care for Wayne County. Building on our previous updates regarding the transition of providers from Wayne Women’s Clinic, we are thrilled to introduce the opening of a new OB/GYN clinic under UNCPN.

UNC Health Wayne is proud to announce the graduation of its very first class from the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™. This milestone event took place Thursday, June 20th, marking a significant achievement in the hospital’s commitment to developing and supporting new nursing professionals.

Recently, Wayne Women’s Clinic, P.A., announced that a majority of their providers will be resigning with plans to leave our community. To ensure continuous and uninterrupted OB care for our community, UNC Health Wayne is stepping in with decisive measures. Recognizing the importance of maintaining quality healthcare for expectant mothers in our community, UNC Health Wayne is actively hiring the physicians and advanced practitioners who have resigned from Wayne Women’s Clinic

UNC Health Wayne is pleased to announce that it continues to be recognized by the American College of Cardiology as an accredited chest pain center. The Chest Pain Center reaccreditation is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the UNC Health Wayne team in delivering exceptional cardiac care. This renewed accreditation highlights the hospital’s continuous improvements in clinical practices, patient outcomes, and emergency response protocols.

UNC Health Wayne is proud to announce that Chandar Madar, RN, Director of Infection Control, and Brittney Davis, RN, Infection Control Nurse, have successfully completed a comprehensive Special Pathogen Preparedness Course hosted by the Serious Communicable Diseases Unit (SCDU) at Emory University

In response to the decreasing number of providers at Wayne Women’s Clinic, P.A. UNC Health Wayne and Wayne Women’s Clinic, P.A. are actively collaborating on recruitment initiatives to bring more OB physicians to the area. They are also developing plans to ensure a smooth transition for expecting mothers and their families following the mid-August date.

Carrie Stokes, a dedicated RN and Stroke/Chest Pain Navigator, recently took her expertise to the Peggy M. Seegars Center, bringing crucial information on stroke prevention, symptoms, and treatment to the local community.
