UNC Health Wayne Steps In to Support Community Amid Wayne Women’s Clinic Changes
Recently, Wayne Women’s Clinic, P.A., announced that a majority of their providers will be resigning with plans to leave our community. To ensure continuous and uninterrupted OB care for our community, UNC Health Wayne is stepping in with decisive measures. Recognizing the importance of maintaining quality healthcare for expectant mothers in our community, UNC Health Wayne is actively hiring the physicians and advanced practitioners who have resigned from Wayne Women’s Clinic but expressed their desire to continue serving our community. Additionally, UNC Health Wayne has started a nation-wide recruitment initiative focused on bringing more OB physicians to our community with a plan to expand services.
These experienced and dedicated providers will be integrated into the UNC Physician Network (UNCPN), allowing them to remain in the area and continue providing exceptional care. We are also hiring board-certified temporary physicians that will help us ensure quality and patient safety during these changes. These moves underscore UNC Health Wayne's commitment to not just retaining top medical talent but also ensuring that our community does not experience a gap in critical OB services.
With the inclusion of these providers into the UNCPN, patients can expect a seamless transition in their care. Expectant mothers and their families will continue to receive comprehensive and personalized OB care without disruption, maintaining the high standard of care they deserve.
We will continue to provide updates to the community as we develop and implement our strategies to maintain and improve OB services in Wayne County. UNC Health Wayne remains steadfast in our mission to support the well-being of our community through every transition.
