UNC Health Wayne proudly celebrates Dr. Thaddeus West as the recipient of the prestigious UNC Health Excellence in Physician Leadership- Leading with Equity Award, a testament to his dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to equitable healthcare in Wayne County.

In a major step towards combating the diabetes crisis affecting Wayne County, the Wayne Memorial Hospital Foundation has launched the Diabetes HealthCheck program—a mobile initiative dedicated to diabetes education, prevention, and outreach. This groundbreaking program, developed to improve health outcomes in the community, will be coordinated by Billy Tart Jr., Coordinator of the Outpatient Diabetes Prevention Wellness Program at UNC Health Wayne.

UNC Health Wayne proudly congratulates Dr. Thaddeus West, who was recently honored with the prestigious Distinguished Citizen Award by the Tuscarora Council, Boy Scouts of America. This award, presented annually, recognizes individuals who exemplify the values of integrity, leadership, and service to the community. Dr. West's longstanding dedication to the wellbeing of Wayne County residents and his commitment to community service have earned him this remarkable recognition

Recently, the Pharmacy Department at UNC Health Wayne had the privilege of hosting a delegation of Infectious Disease (ID) Physicians from South Korea. This visit was part of an initiative to enhance collaboration in antimicrobial stewardship efforts, a critical area of focus in combating antibiotic resistance and improving patient outcomes.

UNC Health Wayne recently donated two wheelchairs and a scale to Eastern Wayne High School’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training site. This contribution will benefit students enrolled in the school’s Health Sciences program, which offers a pathway to a rewarding career in healthcare.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lori Spisak has joined the team at UNC Health Women's OBGYN Care, located at 2400 Wayne Memorial Drive, Suite I, Goldsboro, NC. Dr. Spisak, who previously provided care at Wayne Women's Clinic PA, brings with her a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for women's health.

We are excited to announce that UNC Orthopedics at Goldsboro is expanding its services with the addition of Dr. Syed Hanif Hussaini, an Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon. Dr. Hussaini joins us with an impressive background in orthopedic surgery and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
